LeaseMax Help

Use the Lease Calculator

Fill in details, read the layout preview, then generate real pricing with Next.

The Lease Calculator is where you enter the car and a few details about yourself. You fill in the form on the left; the right side shows a layout preview of how a deal sheet looks. When you're ready, select Next so LeaseMax can pull real lender programs and build your full deal.

The Lease Calculator is the same screen as Step 02, "Build your deal," in the full get-started flow. If you've started building a deal, you're already using it. For the full journey: including the intro questions: see Build Your Lease Deal.

The monthly payment amounts in the Lease Options preview table are sample placeholders so you can see the layout. They do not update as live pricing when you move the sliders. Your real lender payments are calculated after you select Next.

Before you start

It helps to have:

  • The VIN of the car you're interested in (17-character Vehicle Identification Number: on the window sticker, driver's-side dashboard, or online listing).
  • The car's MSRP (sticker price).
  • Your ZIP code and a credit score estimate (300–850).

You do not need an account to use the calculator.

Steps

  1. Open the calculator. Go to /lease-calculator. On the left you'll see a Vehicle Information form. On the right you'll see the results area, which fills in as you go.

  2. Enter the Vehicle's VIN number. Type the 17-character VIN. When it's recognized, a green check appears and the car's make, model, trim, and year show below the field. If the VIN doesn't match a leasable car, you'll see a red mark and a message that the vehicle isn't available.

  3. Set your Annual Mileage. Drag the Annual Mileage slider. The options come from the specific car, so the slider stays locked until the VIN is valid.

  4. Choose your Down Payment. Drag the Down Payment slider from $0 to $10,000 in $1,000 steps (starts at $0).

  5. Pick your Lease Term. Open the Lease Term dropdown and choose how many months you'd like to lease for. The list is set by LeaseMax (it can change over time).

  6. Enter your Zip Code. Type your 5-digit Zip Code. A green check confirms it's recognized; a red mark means it wasn't found.

  7. Enter the MSRP. Type the car's sticker price into the MSRP field. It formats as dollars as you type.

  8. Set the Dealer Discount (optional). Use the Dealer Discount dropdown (0%–15%). Smaller discounts (1–5%) show a green Realistic badge; larger ones (6–15%) show an orange Aggressive badge.

  9. Enter your Credit Score. Type a whole number from 300 to 850.

What updates on the right (and what doesn't)

As you complete fields, the right side fills in:

  • Before a valid VIN: a placeholder.
  • After the car is recognized: a card with make, model, year, and VIN.
  • As you set mileage, term, and credit score: dial-style cards summarizing those choices.
  • Once the form is complete: a Lease Options table.

What does follow your inputs:

  • The vehicle card and dials.
  • Due At Signing column headers (they sit around the down payment you chose).

What does not update live:

  • The monthly payment cells and the supporting lines (RV%, money factor, fees, rebates) in the preview table. Those are sample numbers for layout only.

How to read the Lease Options preview

The table is titled Lease Options. Use it to learn the labels you'll see on a real deal sheet:

  • Due At Signing (column headers): cash on day one; several amounts around your chosen down payment.
  • Monthly payment (bold dollar amount): sample layout placeholders on this screen (and still sample on the on-screen /deal page after Next). Real program numbers are on the downloadable deal sheet PDF.
  • RV% / RV: residual (projected end-of-lease value).
  • Money factor: lease interest rate in decimal form.
  • I. Fees: inception fees.
  • Rbt: rebates (on the full deal sheet you may also see Rebate).

How this differs from a full deal

The calculator is for entering your details and seeing how a deal sheet is laid out. It is not your final quote.

When you select Next, LeaseMax builds your full deal: it pulls real lender programs, compares options, and later produces a complete deal sheet you can download. See Build Your Lease Deal and Understand Your Deal.

Troubleshooting

  • The mileage slider won't move. Enter a valid VIN first: mileage options load only after the car is recognized.
  • "This vehicle isn't available for lease." Re-check all 17 characters, or try a different VIN.
  • The VIN shows a red mark. Confirm it's exactly 17 characters (no I, O, or Q: those are usually 1 or 0).
  • The ZIP code shows a red mark. Re-enter all five digits; wait if you see a spinner.
  • "Please enter a valid credit score (300-850)." Enter a whole number between 300 and 850.
  • Required-field warnings when you select Next. Fill every field marked with an asterisk (*).
  • "Oops!" after Next. Adjust inputs (term, mileage, or down payment) and try again, or refresh if the message says to.
